PLANNED WATER DISRUPTION – Rove Supply System
Sunday 23rd August 2026 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Solomon Water would like to inform our valued customers that due to work requirements at Point Cruz, water supply from the Rove supply system will be temporarily shut down from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday 23rd August 2026.
The planned shutdown is necessary to allow Solomon Water’s NRW – New Customer Connection Team to carry out flow meter raising and replacement works in front of Our Telekom, Point Cruz.
Customers supplied from the Rove supply system may experience low water pressure or no water during the shutdown period.
Affected customers are advised to collect and store enough water in clean, covered containers for use during the shutdown.

Bringing government closer to communities means making sure people have a real voice in the decisions that shape their lives.
Solomon Islands has officially launched a new US$3 million UN Peacebuilding Fund programme to support decentralisation, constitutional reform and more inclusive governance across all nine provinces.
The 24-month programme, “Decentralization as a Pathway to Stability: Addressing Center-Periphery Conflict in Solomon Islands,” will be implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UN Women in close partnership with the Government of Solomon Islands.
Officially launching the programme, Minister for Traditional Governance, Peace and Ecclesiastical Affairs Hon. George Temahua said reform must be nationally owned and shaped by the people of Solomon Islands.
“The United Nations and our development partners can provide technical expertise and resources. But the reform choices must be informed by the people of Solomon Islands and led through our national institutions.”
The programme will support stronger local governance, national and provincial dialogue, evidence-based policy development, and greater participation by women, young people, persons with disabilities and other groups in decision-making.
UNDP Pacific Office Resident Representative, Munkhtuya Altangerel said durable development depends on citizens believing their voices matter, institutions respond to their needs, and development reaches communities fairly.
The launch was also attended by Hon. Alfred Lazarus Rinah, Minister for Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening (MPGIS); UN in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu & Vanuatu Resident Coordinator Dirk Wagener; UNICEF Pacific Representative Hamish Young; and UN Women Pacific Multi-Country Office Representative Alison Davidian together with representatives from civil society, women's groups, persons with disabilities, youth and faith-based organisations.
