The Central Bank of Solomon Islands launched its 2025 Annual Report with a speech by Governor Dr Luke Forau under the theme "Fit for the Times: Prioritizing Inclusive and Resilient Growth."
CBSI reported that the Solomon Islands economy grew by 3.6% in 2025, up from 3.0% in 2024. Headline inflation eased to 1.6%, the balance of payments surplus rose to SBD938 million, and gross foreign reserves reached SBD6.62 billion, equivalent to 12 months of imports. Formal-sector SINPF contributors increased by 4% to 61,829.
The Bank revised its 2026 growth forecast from 3.8% to 3.4% after the Middle East crisis and Tropical Cyclone Maila. The Governor called for coordinated investment in agriculture, tourism, digital financial services and renewable energy, supported by stronger skills, technology, data and public systems.

PLANNED WATER SHUTDOWN NOTICE: Tasahe Reservoir
Solomon Water would like to inform our valued customers that due to work requirement at Tasahe reservoir, water supply will be temporarily shut down from 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m, Saturday 4 July – Sunday 5 July 2026
The planned shutdown is necessary to carry out pipeline interconnection works for the new reservoir.
Customers receiving water from the following supply systems will experience low water pressure or no water supply during this period:
• Titinge Tank
• Tasahe Tank
• Lengakiki Tank
• Skyline Tank
• East Kola Tank
Affected customers are advised to store water in buckets and containers for use during this shut down period.
We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
